1.Flexible filter

When designing optical instruments and equipment it is rarely the case that all light paths will run perfectly parallel from beginning to end. Rather, they often take on different angles as they traverse the path.
Most multi-layered dielectric films change their optical characteristics as the incoming light’s angle of incident changes. Optical properties also tend to vary depending on the point at which the light hits.
We have developed a special multi-layered filter to minimize these changes. When this filter is applied the optical properties of the surface (a mirror for example) remain stable regardless of the light sources angle of incident.

2.Inclination (Wedge) coating

Most multi-layered dielectric films change their optical characteristics as the incoming light’s angle of incident changes. Optical properties also tend to vary depending on the point at which the light hits.
We have developed another solution to this same problem: by varying the thickness of the optical coating we can negate much of the variance caused by different angles of incident and different hit locations.
In general the coating of a dichronics mirror is evenly applied across the entire surface so that its thickness is 50% of the intended wavelength.
In our unique coating process, we precisely vary the thickness of the coating across the mirror’s surface so that a significant proportion of angle of incident related optical variance is avoided.
We have designed special tooling to make this unique process repeatable and reliable.

3.Glass processing technique to non-spherical surfaces

We have developed a technique to produce non-spherical glass shapes. We begin by converting the design specification into custom tooling, and then use this tooling to manufacture the glass shape by heating and pressing the raw material into the tooling.
This technique is used in the manufacture of various automobile components like display units and mirrors.
