Notice of Winning the Invention Incentive Award in the Kanto Region in Fiscal 2025

１．Background of the invention
The "Courtesy Logo Projection Light" is a lighting fixture mounted on the lower inside part of the door. In addition to illuminating when the car door is open to alert following vehicles and help prevent rear-end collisions (courtesy lamp function), it also brightens the area around the passenger’s feet at night and creates a more luxurious welcome by projecting a logo or similar image onto the ground (logo lamp function).
In conventional Automotive Door “Courtesy Lights”, it is necessary to design the Light product with additional structure so as to prevent performance reducing ‘light leak’. This additional structure makes it difficult to reduce the size of the device. However, by introducing our proprietary light guide plate with an optical design structure, Murakami Corporation have simultaneously achieved enhanced Light brightness, clearer projected Logos, and a more compact device design.
This more compact and brighter "Courtesy Logo Projection Light" has made it possible; to meet needs in an automotive industry which is seeking multifunctionality and lighter weight, in addition to safety and hospitality, and which has lead to wide market expansion in recent years.

２．Future Activities
Murakami Corporation place importance on acquiring intellectual property rights as part of our management strategy. On the occasion of this award, Murakami Corporation will further promote the acquisition and utilization of intellectual property rights for automotive products, opt-electronics products, and new businesses, while further developing technologies for safety, security, and comfort.
In addition to the award-winning Automotive Door “Courtesy Logo Projection Light”, Murakami Corporation is actively engaged in developing and proposing Lighting products in a new category called ‘spot illumination’, which combines safety and sensibility to create a sense of exclusivity and luxury for users through lighting effects. While enhancing vehicle safety, Murakami Corporation aim to generate emotional value through light-based information and design, deepening the emotional connection between vehicles and users, and thereby contributing to the advancement of mobility society.

Our main products are automotive rearview mirrors and interior mirrors, but since our Lighting Team’s first adoption of the Side Turn Indicator Light for rearview mirrors by an automaker in 2015, we have continuously refined our design and development technologies. With the Automotive Door “Courtesy Logo Projection Light” we pursued higher brightness, greater precision, and enhanced durability to deliver a product that provides customers with a richer mobility experience.
